Josh Buskirk has been playing his brand of guitar for
audiences for almost a decade, he is now 27. Growing up in Coolville, Ohio
there were not many role models in his genre, but thankfully the records of
the greats were readily available. After years of playing live shows Josh
has developed a style of fingerstyle guitar that is just as at home on a
1920's Delmore Brothers blues to Jim Reeves' country to the Velvet
Underground's rock n' roll. But more than all of that Josh is known for his
virtuosic mastery of the twelve-string guitar, playing original compositions
that are as stunningly technical as they are fun to tap your foot with. His
voice has been likened to such disparate talents as Lou Reed and Willie
Nelson. A badge he proudly wears.
The 11 original tracks
highlight his love of twangy guitars with a distinct melody that has the
power of getting stuck in one’s head. Buskirk has exceptional talent, not
only in the art of playing guitar but also in writing."

This CD offers 11 tracks by an Ohio Valley guitar virtuoso, delivered with
outstanding technique. His style is reminiscent of Steve James and Jack
Jezzro. This is a fine collection that showcases an up and coming talent.
...,we caught up with a great blues guitarists Josh Buskirk. This kid’s got
all the tools.

I've never been much for purely instrumental
musicians, but seeing Josh Buskirk at the Barking Spider this night was a
real treat... One of the great surprises you get when you just show up. His
amazing guitar playing really played upon my love of Leo Kottke,... He did
sing on one, and he ended up having an enjoyable sense of humor. Check him
out.
